Housewife sues 16

A case was filed with Assassuni police station Tuesday night against 16 people including Assassuni upazila BNP joint convener and Anulia union parishad (UP) chairman Ruhul Quddus under the Women and Children Repression Preventive Act alleging torture on a pregnant housewife. Marzina Khatun, wife of Mujibar Rahman of village Ekshara filed the case. She alleged that the accused attacked their rival villagers in front of a rice mill on July 28 leaving five people including herself and her husband Mujibar Rahman seriously injured. Soon after the incident, she was taken to Satkhira Sadar hospital where she had an abortion because of shock and injury.
