Strike by bus workers

Bus workers observed a day-long strike in Lalmonirhat yesterday protesting assault on three of their colleagues on Wednesday by BCL men in Barokhata area of Hatibandha upazila. Lalmonirhat-Burimari road communication remained suspended during the strike. Workers said local BCL cadres assaulted Jamal, Karim and Hossain over bus fare. However, the bus workers withdrew the strike in the evening after the district AL and administration assured them of taking action against the culprits.
