PCJSS activist murdered

An activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) was murderd at Boradom village under Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari district early yesterday. The dead is Pradip Chandra Chakma, 40, son of Prabat Chandra Chakma of the village. He was a member of PCJSS Dighinala upazila unit. Police quoted family sources as saying that a gang of 10 to 15 unidentifed assailants called Pradip out of his house at around 1:00am and killed him with sharp weapons. On information, police rushed to the spots at about 2:00am and recovered the body. Officer in-Charge of Dighinala Police Station Subash Chandra Pal said Pradip might have been killed by rival partymen. “He was a listed criminal and wanted in three cases filed with Dighinala Police Station,” said the OC. On December 11, PCJSS activist Shanti Kumar Chakma died in a gunfight between two factions of the party in Moner Manush area of the same upazila.
