Robbers loot house in Chuadanga

Armed robbers on Saturday night looted a house critically injuring house owner at Chadpur village in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga. According to police, they entered the house of Moslem Uddin at about 12:30 pm on the plea of drinking water. As Moslem came out with water, the gang held him hostage at gun point. Then the gang looted Tk 70, 000 and gold ornament worth about Tk 1 lakh. The looters mercilessly beat up Moslem. He is now undergoing treatment at Alamdanga upazila health complex. A case was filed with Alamdanga police station. In Laxmipur, four robbers of an inter-district gang were held along with firearms and bullets at Proshadpur village early Sunday. The arrestees were identified as Sahidul Islam Kiron, Yousuf Ali Mintu and Md Rasel of Shompara village in Chatkhil upazila and Shahidul Islam Shahid of Satkania upazila in Chittagong, reports UNB. Acting on secret information, a team of Chatkhil police conducted a drive at the betel-leaf orchard of Afazuddin and arrested the four robbers while they were preparing to commit robbery in the area at about 3:00am. The law enforcers also seized five guns and 30 bullets from their possession.
