Criminals held in Kushtia

Police on Sunday night arrested four criminals with help of locals following a failed bid to snatch a microbus killing its driver in Doshmile area on Kushtia-Bheramara highway. According to police, a group of four came to Kushtia on Sunday evening and rented a microbus from Majampur area of the town to go to Rajshahi. When the microbus reached Doshmile under Bheramara upazila at about 8.00: pm, a criminal tried to smother the driver with a piece of cord from behind. The driver instantly stopped the micro and cried for help. Locals rushed to the spot and caught one of the criminals. A police team from Bheramara later arrested all four identified as Humayan Kabir of Hanighati in Singra upazila in Natore, Khudu Mia of Hargram colony in Rajshahi town and Redwan and Selim Sardar of Maniknagar in Iswardi upazila in Pabna.
