Fire kills girl in Barguna

A four-year-old girl died in a fire incident in Barguna while 11 shops and a house were gutted in Bhola on Saturday. According to UNB, Kakoli, daughter of Dulal Pada of Patakata village in Amtali upazila died in a fire incident at night. Victim's mother Salma Begum said, the fire originated from kerosene lamp and burnt their dwelling house while she went to another house keeping her daughter asleep. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. In Bhola, at least 11 shops and a dwelling house were gutted in separate fire incidents in Sadar and Charfashion upazilas on Saturday night. Locals said the shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Hajirhat in Charfashion upazila at dead of night. They said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a readymade garments shop and soon engulfed the nearby 10 shops. The affected shop owners claimed that cash and valuables worth Tk 50 lakh were gutted in the blaze. In another incident, the dwelling house of Yunus Mia of Rajapur union in Sadar upazila was burnt to ashes late at night. The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
