15 injured in clash

At least 15 people were injured in a fierce clash between the people of two villages at Mirzapur in Shibganj upazila on Saturday morning. Police said there was a longstanding dispute between Majed Sarder of Mirzapur village and Mobarak Ali of Baliadighi village over ownership of 22 bighas of land. They said the two groups locked in an altercation when supporters of Mobarak tried to take possession of the land. At one stage, the two groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other leaving 15 people injured from both sides. Eight of the injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in critical condition while others to local upazila health complex.
