Probe agency starts receiving info

The investigation agency to investigate the war crimes of 1971 started receiving information and proof about war crimes from individuals. One Timir Dutta submitted some documents and evidences of war crimes in 1971 in Barisal district to investigation commissioner Abdul Matin. Another member of the investigation agency Abdur Rahim were also present at that time. Timir Dutta told reporters at the office of the investigation agency at Old High Court building that the documents and evidences would help prove the offences of war crimes in 1971 at Barisal. He said his father, uncle and elder brothers were killed by Al-Badrs and Razakars and girls of his village were also raped. Timir said, "We took shelter at our village home on April 5 in 1971 as the situation got worse, several other people also took shelter along with us. On May 25, war criminal Sekandar Malik along with his men attacked our house. They set fire to our house, looted our valuables and raped girls." Timir's eldest brother filed two cases - one with the Nalchhiti Police Station and the other with Barisal Kotwali Police Station - in 1973. Abdul Matin said they are receiving information and evidences of war crimes from individuals and they have received information from seven to eight persons.
