Court Correspondent
A Dhaka court decides tomorrow whether the sedition case against Dhaka City Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka over his remarks terming late president Ziaur Rahman the 'proclaimer of independence and the country's first president' will be taken into cognizance or not. Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Shahadat Hossain yesterday set the date for passing the order on the issue, which was filed against Khoka by a freedom fighter on Monday. Siddiqur Rahman, a freedom fighter of Madaripur Sadar Upazila, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka. After the hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Emdadul Haque recorded statement of the complainant and decided to give the order yesterday after scrutinising the law regarding the sedition case.
