Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration Company (Bapex) has successfully repaired a well of Titas gas field and restored gas production from there after around 45 days. A top Bapex source said a crack had developed in the well, which was successfully sealed. Well number 4 of the gas field owned by Bangladesh Gas Field Company Ltd resumed producing 32 million cubic feet of gas per day from yesterday evening. Different gas fields of the country are producing a total of 2000 mmcfd gas against a demand of 2500 mmcfd. The country's oldest gas field Titas is producing around 400 mmcfd gas. The restoration of the well provides some relief to the sector that is under perennial energy crisis.
