Teachers threaten agitation

Leaders of Bangladesh Non-Government Primary Teachers' Association yesterday threatened to wage tougher agitations if their jobs are not nationalised by May 30. They said this at a meeting of the standing committee of the association at its headquarter in the city, said a press release. The association has chalked out a course of programmes to press their demands. The programmes include submitting a memorandum to the Prime Minister (PM) through the upazila chairmen on May 2, through the deputy commissioners on May 10, through the lawmakers on May 15 and holding a rally on May 25 at Muktangan in the city. Association President Aminul Islam Chowdhury presided over the meeting while its Secretary General Monsur Ali and leaders Habibur Rahman, Provat Ranjan Biswas, Kazi Omar Faruk Badal and Mosharaf Hossain were present.
