Girl commits suicide

A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide at her house at Mohakhali in the city yesterday. The body of Sumaiya Islam Jui, 18, who appeared in O level exams from Oxford International School at Dhanmondi, was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a scarf. She committed suicide after a quarrel with her mother at around 11:00am, her relatives said. They said her father Zahidul Islam, a businessman, died five years ago, leaving behind huge property. After his death, her mother Rehena Parveen married again, over which she Jui had frequent quarrels with her mother.
