Mother commits suicide after killing baby girl
A mother committed suicide by taking poison after killing her two-year-old daughter by feeding poison to the child at Kanduria village in Ghior, Manikganj, yesterday morning.
Local people said Sultana Begum, 30, wife of Akkas Ali, committed suicide apparently because of feuds with her husband.
Sultana first gave poison to her child Chumki and later she also took poison at about 6:00 am, they said.
Family members immediately took both mother and daughter to Manikganj sadar hospital where Chumki died at 8:00am.
Doctors referred the mother to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as her condition deteriorated. But she died on the way.
The bodies were sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
