4000 bottles of Phensidyl seized, two arrested
Directorate of Narcotics Control in association with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered around 4,000 bottles of contraband Phensidyl syrup from Tongi on the outskirts of the capital and arrested two peddlers on Tuesday night.
The detained were identified as Abu Taher of Kachua upazila in Chandpur and Selim Miah, 28, of Comilla.
Rab-1 officials said they first arrested Taher in the Airport area with 50 bottles of Phensidyl in his possession. Later, on information received from Taher, the Rab and the DNC personnel captured Selim from Tongi and recovered 3,950 bottles of the contraband drugs.
The Rab and the DNC officials said both Taher and Selim were engaged in drugs peddling in the Airport area for years.
