Printing press gutted in Ctg
Machinery and papers worth around Tk 5 lakh were gutted in a fire at a printing press at Sirajuddowla Road in the port city of Chittagong on Friday night.
Sources in Fire Service and Civil Defence department said the fire broke out at Rahmania Printers, on the ground floor of a two-storey building, of one Maksudur Rahman at around 10.15pm and spread fast damaging machinery and papers inside it.
Two fire fighting units from Chandanpura Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire after an one-hour effort.
Damages in the fire that originated from an electric short-circuit were estimated at Tk 5 lakh, said Senior Station Officer Towfiqul Islam of the Chandanpura Station.
