Five feared drowned in Jamuna

At least five people are feared to have drowned after an overloaded boat capsized in the river Jamuna near Sariakandi upazila of Bogra on Friday evening. The missing passengers are Zahidur, 25, Sathia Begum, 18, Makbul Hossain, 40, Azmal, 30, and his son Zihad, 6. Halima Begum, one of the survivors, said the boat carrying 15 to 16 passengers overturned near Kalatali at about 6:30pm when they were returning from a wedding ceremony. Local administration and fire fighters are continuing their search for the missing but none has been recovered so far.
