Police foil protest by Eden students

The police yesterday foiled a demonstration of the students of Eden Girls' College and allegedly assaulted some 10 or 12 female students. The students have been demonstrating for the last few days in protest against the harassment of a female student by a doctor at Dhanmondi on May 9. The students alleged that the police took away banners, switched off microphone and misbehaved with them when they were trying to stage a demonstration in front of the college yesterday.
