Tk 59cr Ctg flyover may get nod

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) meets today to consider five development projects, including construction of a flyover in Chittagong. Ecnec Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside over the second Ecnec meeting of the current fiscal year. According to the project proposal, the flyover will be constructed at Kadamtali junction in the port city at an estimated cost of Tk 59 crore under the Housing and Public Works Ministry and Chittagong Development Authority (CDA). The other projects are Chandana-Barasia river dredging project under the Water Resources Ministry, construction of National Institute of Neurosurgeons (2nd revised) project under the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, upgrading Baoshi-Gopalpur-Bhuapur road to a regional highway (connecting Madhupur) project under the communications ministry, and construction of Sirajganj 150 MW gas turbine (peaking) power plant project (revised) under the Power Division. The Ecnec meeting will also review the ADP implementation progress of the information ministry from July 2009-June 2010 and the other projects approved by Ecnec from February 2-17 this year.
