Hasina Happy Over HSC Results
Teachers' facilities should be raised: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed satisfaction over the HSC results and its equivalent examinations of 2010.
Receiving the results from Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at Gonobhaban yesterday, she congratulated the successful examinees and suggested unsuccessful students to be more attentive to their studies and appear successful in the future. Hasina said she wishes to see every student passed in the future examinations.
“You, those who could not pass this year do not get frustrated. I know you are also talent. Study more and more and come out successfully next year,” she said.
Chairmen of 10 education boards were present.
On the occasion, she talked with teachers and students of Government Bangabandhu College, Gopalganj; and Sylhet Mahila College through video conference.
“Our all boys and girls are meritorious. They all can pass the examinations if they are given proper supports and guidance,” Hasina said.
She expressed gratitude to teachers for their hard mental and physical work to teach their students.
She also thanked the education ministry, all education boards, teachers and students for their contributions tox complete the examinations successfully.
Hasina said teachers' facilities need to be increased to improve the standard of education. Without increasing the facilities, it will not be possible to ensure quality education for all.
“The teachers have to work hard to make their students eligible for passing examinations. The teachers are building future of the nation. At the same time, maximum facilities have to be ensured for the respected teachers,” she said.
Hasina said heinous act like question leakage started since the last regime of BNP-Jamaat alliance as the alliance government appointed their party men in offices and administration. About the government success in digging out the vicious circle behind the question leakage, she said since assuming the office, she has kept close eye on these incidents and ordered the authorities to identify the clique.
About high dropping rate of students from schools, she suggested arrangement of tiffin through joint initiative of government, school committees and guardians as an attempt to stop dropouts.
She also suggested introduction of mobile schools on boats for ensuring uninterrupted education facilities for children living in chars, haors and baors.
About the shortage of English and Mathematics teachers in rural areas, the PM suggested that video conferences could be arranged so that one teacher can take class of students of several schools at a time.
