Indians plant rice seeds in Bangladeshi territory

Around eight Indians of Khasia community planted rice seeds on around 3 bighas of land inside Bangladeshi territory on August 3 said a press release of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), Sylhet yesterday. According to the release, eight Khashia (indigenous people) of India entered around 300 yards into Bangladesh, crossing the border at Sripur, and started tilling the soil with a power tiller around 10:25am. A patrol team of Border Security Force of India from Nolzuri camp encouraged them to continue cultivation. A BDR patrol team in Alu Tila post tried to alert the Khasia through whistle and megaphone but they did not pay any heed and continued till 5:20pm. The intruders returned to India after planting the seeds, the press release added.
