Medical Asst School closed for 7 days
Noakhali Medical Assistant School was closed yesterday for seven days following a clash between rival groups of students that left at least 10 injured.
The decision was taken by the academic council at an emergency meeting, said acting Principal Abdul Kader.
He said action will be taken against those responsible for creating disturbance after investigation.
Abdur Rab Ripon, Abdul Motaleb, Asraful Hasan, Ayatullah and Javed badly injured by rod and sticks were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital. Others were treated in private clinics.
Witnesses said two rival groups of students engaged in altercation over non-payment of dues of the dinning hall by certain students. Soon the clash escalated, both sides using rod and sticks, leaving 10 students injured.
General students complained of absence of security in the hostels as outsiders have easy access to the dormitories.
