Power crisis

Farhad Kabir, A banker
We have been facing power crisis for decades mainly because of our inadequate capacity to generate electricity. As many power plants run using CNG, the demand of CNG is increasing. The government has taken a decision to close the CNG stations from 3pm to 9pm daily to balance supply and demand. It will not be profitable to import electricity from other countries as the price will be high. We have lost many lucrative offers of foreign investments to solve energy crisis. The government is trying to solve this problem by taking various initiatives - importing electricity, building power plants etc. It is very much true that such big crisis cannot be solved shortly, but we expect the government would fix it before it is too late.
