Road accidents kill three
At least three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur and Munshiganj on Tuesday night and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur reports: A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Dr Md Rustam Ali, 28, son of Md Mokbul Hossain of Pataikuri village at Chirirbandar upazila.
Police said the accident occurred around 11:30am when two motorcycles collided head-on at Shamnagar village under the upazila yesterday leaving Rustam dead on the spot.
Two injured are --- Md Rabiul Islam, 30, son of Ilias Ali of Shamnagar village and Mosaraf Hossain of the same village of the upazilla. They had taken to Chiriribandar upazila Health Complex later shifted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital as their condition was worsening.
A correspondent from Munshiganj adds: At least two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Baushia of Gazaria upazila in the district on Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Dulal Sarker, 32, a vice-president of upazila Chhatra Dal, son of Mojibur Sarker and his friend Mosharof, 30, son of late Gulzar Hossain.
Police said the accident occurred when a speedy truck hit their motorcycle from behind, leaving Dulal dead on the spot.
Mosharof succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital, added police.
Dulal along with Mosharof were going to Daudkandi from Gazaria riding the motorcycle.
The driver with the truck fled the spot after the accident.
