DU mourning day tomorrow
Dhaka University will observe mourning day tomorrow in memory of the victims of the Jagannath Hall tragedy.
October 15 is being observed every year as mourning day in DU since 1985 when, on that day, a roof of a one-storeyed building of Jagannath Hall collapsed, killing 39 people including 26 students.
DU authorities have drawn up various programmes including mourning procession, hoisting black flags, placing wreaths at the memorial of the victims and offering special prayers.
University's flag will be kept at half-mast on the day.
A blood donation programme along with a painting exhibition of the victims is also planned at the dormitory from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
A discussion will be held at the Teachers-Students Centre on October 28.
