One stabbed to death by brother
A man died a day after suffering from stab injuries inflicted by his brother at a capital's hospital early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman.
On Tuesday, Mohammad Shaheen, younger brother of Mostafizur Rahman, hacked Mostafizur and his wife Rabeya Khatun indiscriminately over a family feud killing Rabeya on the spot.
Mostafizur, at a critical condition, was first rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and later to Special Care Hospital of Panthapath where he died.
Locals said Shaheen, the third among four sons of Azizur Rahman, returned from Malaysia a few years ago. He was frustrated being unemployed since then.
Family sources said Shaheen often refused to assist Mostafizur, the sole earner of the family, in the family business.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh Police Station, said Rabeya's father filed a murder case accusing Shaheen. Police are trying to arrest him, he added.
Police handed over the body to his relatives after an autopsy.
