Dhaka wants to share experiences with Kabul: FM
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni reiterated Bangladesh's readiness to share its development experience with Afghanistan.
She told outgoing Afghan Ambassador to Bangladesh Ahmad Karim Nawabi when he paid a farewell call on her.
She said that Bangladesh had been consistent in lending support to build Afghan government's capacity.
“We attach great importance to our relations with Afghanistan, and the people and the government of Bangladesh have a special feeling for the brotherly people of Afghanistan," she said.
The foreign minister reiterated Bangladesh's steadfast commitment towards a stable, democratic and prosperous Afghanistan.
She expressed her conviction that the people of Afghanistan would be able to build a modern state and a dynamic nation in the days ahead.
During the meeting, they discussed further widening of relations between the two countries. They also exchanged views that the two countries might extend cooperation in areas like empowerment of women, non-formal primary education, community healthcare, sanitation, human resource development, judicial system reforms and social and humanitarian programmes.
Ambassador Nawabi expressed his deep gratitude for the support and cooperation he received from the government of Bangladesh during his tenure in Dhaka, saying that his attachment to Bangladesh would remain ever alive.
