Transport company's director hacked to death
A director of a private transport company was hacked to death in broad daylight at Mawa Ferry Ghat under Louhojang upazila of the district yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Tipu, 38, son of Mostofa Mia of Hatarpara village under Shrinagar upazila of the district.
Officer-In-Charge Helal Uddin of Louhojang Police Station said Tipu was one of the directors of Godhuli Transport Company.
He said Iqbal, a staff of the company, called Tipu to the scene at around 1:45pm and hacked him with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took him to Shologhar Health Complex in Shrinagar where doctors declared him dead.
Superintendent of Police Shafiqul Islam said they are trying to nab the killer.
