Government must be ousted through movement: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia last night said the government had people crushed to death under a train like the autocratic government in the past, which killed people by running trucks over them.
She said her party is taking preparations to forge movement and save the country from the 'bajikor (gamblers) government' and called upon the people to come forward to join the anti-government movement.
“Government must be ousted from power through movement, whatever the obstacle may be,” she said while handing over cheques to the victims of the Sirajganj train accident and distributing scholarships to poor students at her Gulshan office in the city.
Khaleda distributed Tk 1 lakh to each family of the seven victims of the Sirajganj train accident.
Receiving the financial help, widows of the victims broke down in tears.
Khaleda consoled them and said government is hatching conspiracy to eliminate the opposition, to stay in power permanently.
“Government is also trying to make the country ineffective but we will not allow it,” she said.
She said people have to resist this government and protect independence and sovereignty, sacrificing blood if necessary.
BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Amirul Islam Alim also addressed the programme with JCD President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku in the chair.
