Valuables worth Tk 50 lakh looted
A gang of armed men looted valuables and cash worth about Tk 50 lakh from a factory in the district's Ghior upazila on Thursday night, officials claimed.
Abdul Ahad Masud, administrative officer of Takwa Pure Drinking Water Factory, said about 25 masked men entered the factory beating up the security guards around 12:00am and looted cash and valuables.
Ghior Police Station OC Azizur said the incident was not a robbery, but a theft. Factory Director Abdus Sobhan Sadik Tipu lodged complaint with the police.
