Information technology
The Prime Minister has pledged to take information technology to the doorstep of the general people. Taking information technology to the doorstep of the people, when majority of them live below the poverty line! To many, a square meal a day is the prime concern of life.
This is a country where people still dump garbage on the roads, footpaths, rendering those unusable. Almost all the city roads are in a bad shape, yet the authorities are not ashamed of taxing the ratepayers. The water is not drinkable, yet the WASA is not ashamed of taxing the consumers. The environment is dangerously polluted. Traffic jam is compelling the commuters to get stranded for hours together.
Under these circumstances, taking information technology to the doorstep of the people is nothing but an empty rhetoric.
The PM should rather focus her attention on solving the above and other prevailing problems with a view to mitigating the sufferings of the people.
