Teachers, students, guardians of several schools and locals formed a human chain in front of Rayerbazar High School and College in the city yesterday protesting an attack on the managing committee chariman of the institution by some stalkers on Saturday. Two local stalkers, Titu and Shahjahan, attacked Abul Kashem Khan when he asked them not to roam around the school's gate when the girls were coming out after school hours at around 12:00 noon. Teachers and other staffs of the school caught Titu and confined him to the school. Around 10 of Titu's friends then attacked the school's security guards and managed to snatch him. Principal of the college Meherunnesa said a group of local stalkers regularly stand in front of the gate right before the girls come out after school hours, teasing the girls in various ways. “We started standing outside the gate for the last few days as girls complained of the matter,” she added. Meherunnesa said Kashem and some teachers were standing outside the gate on that day to prevent teasing. After the incident, Kashem filed a case against 11 stalkers of the area with the Hazaribagh Police Station. Police however could not arrest any of the stalkers till 7:00pm yesterday.
