DCC staff hurt in blast while picking up garbage
A Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) staff was injured in a bomb explosion while picking up garbage at Jatrabari in the city early yesterday.
The injured Afia Begum, 35, lives at DCC sweeper colony in Dhalpur.
Shariful Islam, Afia's son, said the the bomb exploded when her mother touched it accidentally while cleaning a dustbin in front of Dhalpur Mirza Bari at around 6:00am.
Afia, a temporary worker of DCC, was working with five other cleaners at that time.
She has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition with burn injuries to her face, hands and a side of her neck.
