2 add'l judges appointed in SC
Two new additional judges were appointed to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court for two years yesterday.
President M Zillur Rahman made the appointment as per article 98 of the constitution.
The newly appointed judges are Deputy Attorney General Nazrul Islam Talukder and former Deputy Attorney General Farid Ahmed.
Their appointment will take effect from the day of their taking oath.
The president yesterday confirmed two additional judges of the High Court (HC) as per article 95 of the constitution. The confirmed judges are Justice AKM Abdul Hakim and Justice Borhan Uddin.
They were appointed as additional HC judges for two years on November 12 during the past caretaker government. Four other additional HC judges were also appointed at that time.
The number of the HC judges now stands at 92.
After assuming power, the Awami League-led grand alliance has so far appointed 38 judges to the HC.
