Varsity girl commits 'suicide'

A student of a private university allegedly committed suicide by hanging with a scarf from the ceiling fan at Maddhya Pirerbagh in city's Mirpur yesterday. The dead Mahjabeen Munni, 20, was a first year student of Presidency University. Officer-in-Charge Kazi Wajed Ali of Mirpur Police Station said Munni's mother went to the room and found the body hanging from the ceiling at 8:00am. Munni's family informed police that she went to her room after taking dinner on Sunday and committed suicide.
