2 traders jailed, fined for storing polybags

A mobile court yesterday fined three traders at Mirpur in the city a total of Tk 50,000 for illegally trading and storing polythene bags, says a press release. The court led by Department of Environment (DoE) Dhaka Divisional Director Sukumar Biswas also seized 4.5 tonnes of polythene bags and sentenced two traders to two months imprisonment. Dhaka district's Executive Magistrate Md Kamruzzaman conducted the mobile court accompanied by police and DoE officials.
