FM urges EU to increase support to development
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni yesterday urged the European Union (EU) to increase its support to the development of Bangladesh.
Dipu made the appeal when EU outgoing ambassador Dr Stefan Frowein called on her at the foreign ministry.
She said the EU is not only the largest trading partner of Bangladesh but the governments of the EU countries are also partners of Bangladesh's development.
She hoped the 'rules of origin' regulation being considered by the EU for last several years would address Bangladesh's concern.
Frowein assured that the concerns of Bangladesh had been accommodated to a large extent and that the EU process for amending the regulations would be completed by early 2011.
