DU journo assaulted by BCL men
A group of activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) yesterday assaulted a journalist at Sir AF Rahman Hall of Dhaka University (DU) while gathering information there.
Injured Kadar Uddin Sishir is the DU correspondent of The New Nation.
Kadar, also a fourth year student of Mass Communication and Journalism department, said a group of BCL men of the dormitory led by DU unit BCL Vice President Reza Sekander attacked him when he wanted to know from them about the stealing of a cell phone.
The hall sources said BCL men picked the alleged thief from a nearby market around 12:00pm.
Hall Provost Prof Azizur Rahman said a probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three working days.
