Court extends bail to Paban again
A Dhaka court yesterday extended the bail till November 22 to Khandaker Akhter Hamid Paban, son of BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain, in a cracker blast case.
The case was filed with Gulshan Police Station against Paban and five others on charge of exploding crackers in front of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office on February 23 this year.
Judge Mohammad Zohurul Hoque of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court passed the order after Paban along with his lawyers appeared before it and submitted a petition seeking extension of bail term on grounds of illness.
The court also directed officer-in-charge of Chatkhil Police Station to submit a report by November 22 on execution of arrest warrant issued earlier against Omar Faruk, former Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal (JCD) president of Chatkhil thana unit.
