ACC files case against six EPB officials
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against six officials of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on charge of allocating “Mukta quota” for fake garments factories, created through forging documents.
ACC investigation revealed in the period between 1989 and 1999 the six officials through mutual collaboration allocated 13,136 dozen Mukta Quota under different categories to 14 fake garments factories.
Mukta Quota is system through which the government used to allocate cotton, received from foreign countries to garment factories. The accused are former director KM Salehin, former deputy director M Atikullah, former investigator Mosharaf Hossain, current director Omar Faruk, assistant director AKM Golam Mostafa and inspection officer Nazrul Islam Zamali.
The case was filed with Tejgaon police station.
