Expulsion from Ctg City AL
Afsarul, Nurul Islam, 2 others showcaused
The Chittagong city unit of Awami League has issued a show cause notice to its four leaders including Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Ameen asking them why they should not be expelled from the executive committee.
The working committee at an emergency meeting on Monday decided to expel four senior leaders of the city unit from their organising posts on charges of activities against the party and its constitution. They have been asked to reply within fifteen days.
The four leaders are lawmaker Nurul Islam Bsc, vice-president of the city unit, Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Ameen, first joint secretary, Advocate Ibrahim Hossain Babul, second join secretary and Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, organising secretary.
Nurul Islam told The Daily Star that he did not receive any notice and the committee has no authority to issue such notices as the validity of the present committee expired long ago.
Secretary of the city unit Kazi Enamul Huq Danu said they have the full authority to issue the notices.
