Support to build airport at Arial Beel
People from all walks of life in Munshiganj yesterday welcomed the decision of the government to establish Bangabandhu International Airport at Arial Beel in their locality.
They were speaking at a roundtable at Dhaka Reporters Unity.
They said the people of Munshiganj (Bikrampur) would remain ever grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for constructing a mega project like Bangabandhu Airport along with a satellite city having an IT village in their area.
Dhaka-based Munshiganj-Bikrampur Samity organised the discussion with its President Prof Dr Muniruzzaman Bhuiyan in the chair.
Awami League Health and Family Welfare Affair Secretary Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuiyan Dablu, lawmakers Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf and Sanjida Khanam, former lawmaker Jamal Hossain, former general secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Omar Faruque and freedom fighter Mahbub Uddin Ahmed (S P Mahbub) spoke at the discussion.
