Road crashes kill 6
Six people were killed and 36 others injured in road accidents in Jhenidah, Chapainawabganj, and Narsingdi yesterday.
Our Jhenidah correspondent reports: Four people were killed and 35 others injured as their bus overturned on Kushtia-Jhenidah highway at Mahmudpur of Sailkupa in the district yesterday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Raihan, 24, and Shahin. Identity of the rest could not be known immediately.
Police and locals said three men died on the spot and a minor boy on the way to hospital. The injured, three of them in critical condition, were taken to Jhenidah sadar hospital.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent says: A motorcyclist was killed and his wife injured seriously after a tractor hit the motorbike at the village Chakpustom of Gomostapur in the district yesterday.
Abdus Samad, 65, of the village Boul of Nachole died on the spot. His wife Tajerin Begum, 45, was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Our Narsingdi correspondent adds: A motorcyclist died on the spot after being hit by a bus in Syednagar under Shibpur of the district yesterday evening. Dead is Nazmul, 20.
