Two killed in road crashes

Two people including a university student were killed and 15 others injured in raod accidents in Jessore and Brahmanbaria yesterday and Monday night. Our Benapole correspondent reports: A university student was killed and 15 other people were injured as a bus overturned on Churamonkathi level crossing on Jessore-Chougachha road yesterday afternoon. Samir Debnath, 20, son of Dhirendra Debnath and a student of microbiology department of Jessore Science and Technology University died on the spot. The injured, four of them also students of the same university, were taken to Jessore 250-bed hospital. On information, the university Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sattar along with teachers and students rushed to the spot. Our Brahmanbaria correspondent adds: A man was killed after a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw (tempo) at Urshiura village of the sadar upazila in Brahmanbaria Monday night. Monir Khan, 35, of the village Maddayapara under Brahmanbaria Pourasabha died on the spot. He was riding the auto-rickshaw.
