Nat'l research council proposed
University Grants Commission (UGC) recommended the government to establish a national research council to coordinate and strengthen all research activities.
UGC made the suggestion in its recent annual report-2009 submitted to President Zillur Rahman.
The report said research activities were sporadically conducted at various levels but it is not clear what the pragmatic applications of the emerging knowledge will be.
“So it is essential to establish national research council or an academy aiming at strengthening and coordinating all research activities,” said UGC.
