5 lakh children fed vitamin A
The national vitamin A plus campaign was lunched with the feeding of vitamin capsule to children at Ideal Grammar School at Boksirhat in the port city yesterday.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Mohammad Manjurul Alam inaugurated the campaign.
Five lakh children aged between 1- 5 were fed vitamin A capsule and four lakh others aged between 2-5 were fed anti-warm tablets in 41 wards of the CCC this year.
CCC Public Relation Officer Saifuddin Ahmad said the campaign started at 12,012 centres simultaneously in the port city under the city corporation with 4,000 thousands volunteers being deployed for its successful execution.
