Indian sari, phensidyl seized
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized Indian saris, cosmetics and phensidyl worth about Tk 14 lakh in Sarsha upazila and Jessore town on Friday night and Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted the raid in a bus in the town's old bus stand area on Friday night and recovered Indian saris and cosmetics worth Tk 10 lakh but the smugglers managed to escape.
Meanwhile, BGB members seized 1000 bottles of phensidyl worth Tk 4 lakh at Ulashi in Sharsha uapzila on Saturday morning.
Sensing the presence of the border guards the smugglers fled the scene abandoning the bottles of phensidyl syrup.
