CU BCL man held
An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University unit was arrested yesterday in connection with the April 30 violence on the campus.
Amit Kumar Basu, a master's student of sociology department, was detained in the university railway area.
Police said Amit is a co-accused in a case filed with Hathazari Police Station on charge of chopping Soumen Das, student international relations (IR) department and a BCL activist, on April 30 on the campus over shuttle train fractionalisation.
Shahidul Islam, a friend of Amit and a BCL activist, filed the case accusing 14 on April 30, he said.
