Restaurants fined for stale food
A mobile court here yesterday in seperate drives fined six different hotels and restaurants Tk 55,000 on charge of selling stale and adulterated food.
During a drive in Kotwali area, the court led by Executive Magistrate, Chittagong Md Zeraur Rahman fined Taiwa Restaurant at Jubilee Road Tk 10,000; Anwara Hotel and Restaurant at Kazir Dewri Tk 15,000; and Hotel Al Faisal at Jubilee Road Tk 10,000.
In Panchlaish area, Muslim Hotel and Restaurant at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Gate was fined Tk 10,000; CMCH third class employees' restaurant Tk 5,000; and CMCH fourth-class employees' restaurant Tk 5,000.
