13 die in custody in May
Says Odhikar
At least seven people were victims of extra-judicial killings and 13 others died in jail custody last month, said Odhikar, a human rights group.
An Odhikar monthly report on human rights situation said a total of 14 people were killed in political violence while 49 women and girls were raped in the country from May 1 to 31.
It also said four Bangladeshi nationals were killed allegedly by Indian BSF despite repeated assurance by India to stop killing along the border, says a press release.
The rights body also expressed concern over the comment by the government high ups regarding Limon Hossain issue and it fears that this such statement would encourage impunity of law enforces.
The Odhikar report also said on February 22 Rapid Action Battalion men allegedly abducted private university student Tawfique Ahmed Hasan from jail gate and since then he remained missing.
