Birdem marks first yr of liver transplantation
Birdem Hospital yesterday celebrated the first anniversary of successful liver transplantation in the country.
Experts at the celebration at Birdem auditorium highlighted the limitations of frequent liver transplantation in the country.
Prof Mohammad Ali, chief liver transplant surgeon placed a follow-up report on Kazi Ershad Ahmed, who underwent the liver transplantation on June 3 last year.
A 17-member team conducted the 17 hour-long transplantation surgery.
Kazi Ershad, 42, now in good health and leading a normal life, was present at the celebration.
